Rough gemstone 13 cm from Afghanistan. This raw lapis piece weighs 1292 g and has that deep natural blue with gold pyrite scattered through it. The surface is rough, with white and gray matrix along the edges.
It has real presence in hand. The weight makes that obvious right away. Turn it in the light and the pyrite catches in small flashes. This came from Mine 4, and it works well as a collector stone, a shelf piece, or for anyone who keeps natural stones on a desk or altar. It is traditionally associated with spiritual work, but it is still just a solid raw stone first.
